Tax Filing Season is Here!

Through SCCAP, The Middleburgh Library has partnered with www.myfreetaxes.com and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (DTF) to help you file both your state and federal taxes for free! If your income was below $60,000 last year then you are qualified to take advantage of this terrific program! You can call the library at (518) 827-5142 to schedule an appointment (for Wednesday 03/04 & 03/25 from 10:00 - 3:00 and 03/09 & 03/30 from 3:00 to 7:00 ) to come to the library and file your own income tax returns free of charge with the guidance of a DTF employee. Or stop in the library any day during tax season and us our dedicated computer to file your taxes free yourself through the portal to myfreetaxes.com. This partnership allows us to fulfill our mission of being a resource to the community by helping you to file your taxes in the most secure and accurate way. The easy to follow interview-style program will help ensure you get all of the credits you deserve. Most importantly, if you e-file your return, you will receive your refund twice as fast as someone who filed a paper return!

The library no longer receives paper copies of Federal Tax Forms.  Tax forms can be downloaded at anytime from the IRS Website, or if you need assistance, Library staff can help you print forms at the library.
